The Carlton Kitchen Library is currently closed until Feb 2024 as we take a break and recruit a new project manager.
The library operates on Fridays from 10am to 12pm and is no longer offering the delivery service provided during Covid.
We're here to support your latest cooking projects.
The library also includes events kits with cups, cutlery and bowls to help keep your events zero waste.
Borrow the appliances you want to try, but don't want to buy!

Membership
Become a member and start your cooking adventure!
Membership Types:
$40 per year for an adult
$20 per year for a concession card holders and students
Only need to borrow for a one-off event? Pay $20 for a one-off borrow.

Member volunteer duty:
As a community we ask all our members to contribute to maintaining and growing the library. We ask all members to volunteer twice a year for 2 hour shifts. If there are other ways you are able to help instead, let us know!

Give your items a second life!
Carlton Kitchen Library is committed to supporting the circular economy - we recognise that we all don’t need to own everything, especially things that we may only use occasionally! By providing a space for unwanted appliances to find new life, stocking resuable plates, cups and cutlery to support zero waste events and promoting borrowing, the library hopes to act as a space for the sharing of cooking items as well as the rich cooking knowledge found within the community.
We take donations during opening hours, have a look at our wish list to see what we are currently on the hunt for:
Volunteer
We are looking for ongoing volunteers to help with library duty. If you can help us out on Fridays 10AM-12PM let us know!
Library duty includes helping to sign up members, checking in items, loaning out items, keeping our stock in order, maintaining our online database and more. Basic ability to navigate a computer system is helpful but not necessary! There are plenty of non computer tasks to help with and we often like to cook up snacks during library time to share with the community!
