About the Event

Our hot and dry summers can create a strain on growing vegetables, so why not learn how to make a wicking bed, an effective contained water source for your food gardens. Wicking beds water plants from below rather than above, which allows water to be distributed more evenly through the soil, and in turn help to create lush green food crops.

This is a hands-on workshop where participants get to make and bring home a wicking bed made from recycled materials that is planted out with seedlings suited to the season.

Please wear sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing. Garden gloves are advisable.
