Our core purpose is to provide access to healthy, culturally appropriate food for people and families living on low incomes in the context of a whole of community approach to food security.

Cultivating Community Activities & Services

Our passion for creating a better food future involves community gardens, urban agriculture, food hubs, school gardens, permaculture, Community Supported Agriculture, organic farming, food waste management and environmental education.

Our activities and services include:

  • Community Gardens

    We provide support to public housing community gardens. We also help communities & local government to support a thriving network of community gardens across Victoria.

  • School Gardens

    Our School Food Gardens service operates in state, Catholic and specialist schools. We encourage schools to consider all options for providing a quality education in food growing & healthy eating.

  • Food Waste & Composting

    We help households, cafes and business reduce food waste & dispose of unavoidable food waste the environmentally friendly way.

  • Food Systems

    Our Food Systems work supports improved farm to plate distribution systems, food swaps and food share initiatives, community kitchens, the grow your own home gardener movement and more.

  • Resources & Links

    Our Resources & Links includes fact sheets, guides, books & library resources and various Australian & internationally based directories of food sector people and organisations.
