Seeds for Joy!
Spring has sprung. It's no ordinary Spring but we want to find a way to help our communities reconnect.
We are seeking volunteers to help turn some seeds into seedlings to donate back to our Community Gardens in the Public Housing of Melbourne.
How will it work?
Thanks to Diggers we have seed trays and seeds. We would like you to have these and nurture and love them. Once they are ready for potting out, we can arrange a way to drop them at a Community Garden as a connection gift that is full of Joy.
To keep this safe during a pandemic and the unknowns we need you to be living within 5km of one of our Public Housing Community Gardens. If you do ( and we can match you up via postcode) and you are up for it, we will need your details and will arrange a time to get your seeds and away you go.
To support you we will be able to give you advice on how to nurture your seeds via our Facebook page and a future webinar.
Why join Seeds for Joy?
Our tenant gardeners have had no access to their gardens since Stage 4 restrictions due to health and safety requirements. They are missing the window to get their Spring/Summer crop in. Seeds For Joy will help plant up their beds but importantly provide a connection and recognition that people care.
